Teacher Mini-Grant Update: Kutztown Elementary School Reading Olympics

“Kutztown Elementary School proudly entered its first team into the Reading Olympics this year with the support of a mini-grant. The grant funds allowed us to purchase several copies of each of the 25 books on the reading list, and our students spent months reading, discussing, and preparing for the competition.

On Wednesday, May 20th, the team enjoyed dinner together before boarding a bus to Penn State Berks for the event. During the competition, teams earned points by correctly answering questions throughout three rounds. We are thrilled to share that the Kutztown Bookworms earned 39 points, placing them among the six teams awarded a 2nd place ribbon.

We are incredibly proud of the students’ hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for reading throughout this exciting experience!”
