Teacher Mini-Grant Update: Banking

Karise Mace, KES Grades 1-5 Enrichment & Math

“For several years, a small group of KES students has been planning to open a school bank and store. This spring, with the help of the KASD Education Foundation, we were able to finally open both the bank and the store. During the months of April and May, all students in grades 3-5 received a weekly allowance of play money and then were able to purchase items from the store. The KASD Education Foundation grant helped us purchase a toolbox that serves as the store and the school supplies and treats we needed to stock the store. This has been a valuable learning experience for all students involved, and we hope to continue it in the years to come. Thank you!!”
