Teacher Mini-Grant Update: Steamroller Print Festival Recap
The addition of the Riley Hopkins screen printing presses has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our program. These presses not only transformed our recent Print Festival, but also opened up new opportunities for students to engage in hands-on, authentic printmaking. Every fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade student had the opportunity to create and take home an original print using one of the four presses. In addition, the tie-dye shirts worn by our student volunteers were screen-printed using this equipment, adding a visible and shared sense of pride throughout the event. The screen printing station quickly became a highlight of the festival! Looking ahead, these presses will continue to support student learning in our high school printmaking courses and beyond. We are excited to keep building on this momentum, finding new and creative ways to use screen printing to connect with our community and expand opportunities for our students. Thank you again for helping make this possible.
