Teacher Mini-Grant Update #2: KAHS Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America
On behalf of the Kutztown Area High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America we would sincerely like to thank the Kutztown Area School District Education Foundation, for awarding us the mini grant this year. Your generous support has made a meaningful impact on our members and our program.
We used $400 of the grant to support student participation and food costs at the Regional Leadership Conference (RLC). At the RLC our members had the opportunity to compete in business-related events, attend leadership workshops, and connect with students from other schools who share similar interests in business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. This was a great experience as it strengthened many of our skills such as; leadership, our confidence, professionalism and gave us a chance to connect with likeminded business individuals.
We also used some of the mini grant funds to support our participation in the State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Hershey this past April. At the SLC, we further developed our competitive skills, expanded our professional networks, and represented Kutztown Area High School at the state level. We spent the remaining portion of the grant funds on senior graduation cords and professional attire from Once Again Thrift Store in Kutztown to start creating what we are calling our “Kutztown Career Closet.” This is a professional clothing lending library that we will make available to students and community members in Kutztown.
Thank you again! Your investment not only helped our FBLA chapter get started, but it also directly supports student leadership, career readiness, and personal growth at Kutztown High School.
Sincerely,
Kutztown Area High School FBLA
