The Kutztown Area School District and KASDEF proudly dedicated the Cougar Courtyard, a sensory playground at Kutztown Elementary School, on November 2. The playground offers a versatile, inclusive environment with equipment designed to stimulate the senses of sight, sound, touch, and smell, as well as balance. It helps children develop motor skills, strengthen social interactions, improve emotional regulation, and build cognitive abilities in a safe, engaging setting.
We are grateful to the many generous donors who made the Cougar Courtyard possible.
Pictured here are family and friends of Jodi Kirstein, in whose memory KES staff installed a bench. Jodi will be honored this spring as an “Imagination Builder” in recognition of her devotion to the students the project benefits.

Businesses and individual donors will receive recognition this spring with the installation of a donor recognition wall.
