The Imagination Library Book Gifting Program supplies free books to children ages 0 to 5 who are living in our community. This early reader program is funded through your donations to the KASD Education Foundation. You are able to directly support this important endeavor by noting “Innovative Projects: Free Books” on the memo line of a future donation.
All children living in the district who are enrolled in the program receive one new book each month from birth until the child’s fifth birthday. That means every child born and raised in our district could enter Kindergarten with a personal library of 60 books! Registrations are accepted year-round. You may sign up to share the love of reading for a child or grandchild who is residing in the Kutztown Area School District by contacting Mrs. Rikki DeVough via email at rdevough@kasd.org.
Dr. Diane Quinn, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Professional Development, stated, “We are so thankful for the support of the Education Foundation in helping us get books into the hands of children and creating partnerships with families even before they enter Kindergarten. Reading to and with our children is one of the best ways we can foster a lasting love of reading and set students up for success in school and beyond.”
