On June 1, 2016, graduating seniors, Phillip Donner, the Class of 2016 Valedictorian and Sara Luckenbill, the class of 2016 Salutatorian, were awarded scholarships in memory of Coach John and Teacher Laila Silan to commend the students’ exceptional academic performance. These scholarships are made possible by donations to the KASD Education Foundation.
In May, 2016, over 25 awards were given by the KASD Education Foundation to graduating KAHS seniors. The awards are given in a large variety of subject areas to individuals who excel in specific academic subjects and extracurricular activities.
On December 11, 2015, the Cougar Tale was honored by the KASD Education Foundation for their dedication and commitment to honor Coach John Silan.
