This event showcased the district’s commitment to an integrated approach to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The culminating showcase was the STEAM Factory, featuring hands-on stations, our art show, and centers including experiences in: virtual reality, motion capture, maker space and design, drone flight, coding and programming activities, design challenges, and multimedia experiences.
The Kutztown Area School District’s 5th Grade Science Fair, in its twelfth year, is still creating scientists and exciting the community. Twenty Science Fair projects created by thirty-one 5th grade scientists were on public display at the Kutztown Middle School as part of the district’s STEAM Factory.

KASD Ed Foundation Executive Committee members for the coming year took office on January 3, 2018.
Ms. Michele Zimmerman became the newest member of the KASD Ed Foundation Board of Directors, and she has also accepted the position of Treasurer for the Foundation for 2018.

Kutztown Area School District hosts STEAM Factory’s STEAM Launch Event on February 16, 2018 (Friday). This event is open to the public and we encourage all to attend!
On Friday, June 2, 2017, Mr. Andrew Brett was honored at the annual KASD Ed Foundation’s Distinguished Alumni Reception held at Moselem Springs Country Club, Kutztown, PA. In attendance were some of Mr. Brett’s friends, family and co-workers, along with several students representing the KAHS graduating class of 2017.
KASD Ed Foundation board members Benjamin Haas and Steve Fenstermacher were thrilled to present 23 graduating KAHS Seniors on May 17 with awards totaling over $16,500. Awards were presented in many areas of study and excellence including scholarship, language, sports, music and community participation. Many awards were presented in honor of loved ones after whom the awards were originally named. …
On April 22, 2017, the Kutztown Area School District officially dedicated the new gymnasium to former basketball coach and teacher John Silan.
